ChatIslam aims to present the correct status of Islam as the religion of Allah and way of life for His creation. More often than not, Islamic issues get more than one ruling. We encourage you to implement the easier of them.
A warning system using a "bot" monitor is implemented throughout all of our forums. It is used by moderators to increase/decrease your warning level as well as apply timed suspending actions, upon any violation of these rules. It is best to accept our Moderator's decision, and try to adjust to forum rules. If a member or visitor attempts to challenge those actions by re-registering under a different name, the member will be logged and banned completely from all forums.
Do not type in capital letters, unless for the beginning of a proper noun or at the beginning of a sentence. Capital letters are regarded as 'shouting' at others.
Do not post about your own website or any other website links (URLs) for promotional purposes anywhere in
ChatIslam Anyone who persistently propagates and advices others to follow only the hardest of them, will be temporary suspended from posting. Subsequent behavior will terminate your rights to participate on our site.
*
ChatIslam staff volunteers are not scholars nor are they necessarily students of Islamic knowledge. They are not fit to make any rulings or fatwa. Their rankings only mean that they are good in administrative skills.
*
ChatIslam has scholars and teachers who visit our site from time to time and provide live access to their knowledge and offer answers to questions while on line. Their answers are from their own sources of Quran and Sunnah and do not necessarily reflect the understandings and beliefs of our Board members and staff. However, as scholars, they have the right and duty to inform us of the rulings and what the sources are for these rulings. *
ChatIslam does not allow posting or discussion of any ruling of issues that had been clearly mentioned in the Quran. Fatwa and human rulings are limited only to those issues that had no clear ruling in the Quran.
*
ChatIslam does not allow impersonation of any person or entity, including but not limited to, a
ChatIslam official, forum leaders, guide or host, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
*
ChatIslam does not allow posting of private messages in the forum thread. Personal conversation should be limited to the (Private Messages console), provided by

ChatIslam rooms.
*
ChatIslam messaging system is private only in regards to other members.
ChatIslam officials may review your private messages to make sure Islamic code of conduct is not violated.
*
ChatIslam does not welcome debates with other faiths, ideologies or philosophies but rather we will inform you what Islam has to offer you. Briefly what this means is: you are not here to proselytize your belief system.
*
ChatIslam does not allow discussions of different sects in Islam. This complex issue will require more than an ordinary Muslim's knowledge to engage into various theological differences and interpretations of Islam. You may post your inquiry at:
http://www.JustAskIslam.com but we will close the topic with an attached message, advising you to read about sects and why we advise everyone to stay away from them, on our website page: "
Groups"
http://islamtomorrow.com/groups *
ChatIslam does not allow members to promote any nationalistic patriotism of their countries. Islam is the flag for all humanity indiscriminate of colors, nationality and ethnicity, and thus we take pride in this religion.
*
ChatIslam does not allow promoting of military and what goes along with it. This applies to recruitment for all countries and governments. We advocate the need for proper living behavior to reduce the need for military. *
ChatIslam does not allow posting of links - NOT EVEN LINKS TO OUR SITE - No links are permitted, whether for or against Islam. USE ONLY THE LINKS BUILT INTO THE ICONS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE.
Do not promote or provide instructional information about illegal activities, promote physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or promote any act of bestiality and cruelty to animals. This may include, but is not limited to, providing instructions on how to assemble bombs, grenades and other weapons, and creating (Crash) sites.
Do not post or otherwise transmit any contents which are unlawful (haram), harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of some else's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
Do not (stalk) or otherwise harass any members; collect or store personal data about other user's photo or addresses at
ChatIslam.
Do not fall into the trap by saying things like, “Islam says so and so” or “Islam is this or that” based on the actions of an individual or group without any reference to Quran and hadith. Many times this can lead to blasphemy and shirk or even slander against Allah and His prophets, peace be upon them all. Please do not bother to post. Unless you are an approved teacher or scholar on our staff, you do not have the right to offer knowledge about Islam.
NOTE: When a scholar is present in the chat room, their first duty is to the non-Muslims and not to the Muslims. Keep in mind the purpose of our chat room is designed for non-Muslims to learn about Islam. Etiquette of asking in our chat rooms: Be sure to ask our scholars and teachers in a proper manner concerning issues or opinions and present any evidences you have to allow the opportunity for objective understanding. When asking a question, construct it in a way that promotes rational and reasonable contemplation, rather than promoting hostility and confusion. Instead of saying, “Why does Islam order Muslims to cut off people’s heads?” a better way would be to ask, “Does Islamic Law provide laws regarding execution and if so, for what purpose?” This approach will offer a better opportunity for receiving the best answers and best treatment for all.
No gossiping about anyone. Example: saying comments such as (why did so and so get banned and so and so did not?)
